Despite never reaching the heights it gained immediately following it's release in 2016, Pokémon Go and it's community are still going strong almost a decade later! Looking to start your journey or get back into the game? Here are the best spots to play in Perth!
Kings Park and Botanic GardenWithout a doubt King's Park is the definitive spot in Perth, with hundreds of PokeStops, numerous gyms, and a very active community to top it off. There are meetups here for every event, meaning you'll be able to experience the event fully with the help from others.
Recently, the game's developer Niantic introduced 'campsites' for community ambassador groups. Thanks to this, King's Park has absolutely solidified its placement as the greatest place to play in Perth. These campsites allow the leader of community groups to place their own PokeStops and gyms around their areas. The leader of the Kings Park group, Nish, had chosen perfect spots to place these additions, and you'll now be able to complete a raid almost every 100 metres. The only downside before was the gaps of nothing in-between gyms, but that's now been solved and makes playing here incredibly smooth!
Whiteman ParkHonestly, Whiteman Park is incredibly slept on as a Pokemon Go destination. I used to argue that the gyms here were significantly denser than King's Park, but that's been countered with the previously mentioned campsites feature. I still think it's a great spot though, especially if it's just you and a few mates since it's never too busy here. Whiteman Park also has the Mussel Pool area which features another large set of stops and gyms and takes around 5-10 minutes to walk/cycle to. There's even the Children's Forest filled with stops in-between Mussel Pool and the main area, meaning there's constantly things to do and catch. Whiteman Park's biggest weakness is the complete lack of active players meaning it'll be down to you and whoever you're with when it comes to raids and overall experience.

Yokine Regional Open Space
Stops, stops, stops - that is Yokine's biggest strength. Yokine is perfect for the non-raid focused events where you need a ton of spawns and/or research but not as many raids. There are still quite a few gyms available as well, but its biggest strength is that everything is accessible within a 10-15 minute walk - it's almost completely flat and open as well, meaning you'll be able to travel directly to wherever you want. For those on the northern side of the river, this is probably an easier spot to access while still maintaining a similar experience to Kings Park.
